Update
REHEARSAL SCHEDULE FOR THIS WEEKEND:
SATURDAY, JANUARY 20:
Battery and Front
Ensemble:
11:00 am - 7:00 pm at Westerville South HS
Band Room and Blendon MS Gymnasium
Battery:
11:00 am - 1:00 pm, WSHS Band Room, 1:00 - 7:00 pm, Blendon MS Gymnasium
(across the parking lot from the Band Room)
Front Ensemble:
11:00 am - 7:00 pm, WSHS Band Room and Blendon MS Gym.
A pizza
lunch/dinner will be served at approximately 4:30 pm.
Please note:
we have the use of the Westerville facilities through a special
arrangement and we are
NOT
to access any other parts of the buildings other than what is listed
above, with the exception of the restrooms. We have custodians who are
staying at the schools while we are there, so please be courteous to
them when you see them.
SUNDAY, JANUARY 21:
Battery and Front
Ensemble:
12 noon – 6:00 pm at Madison Plains MS Gymnasium in London.
It may be
easier to arrange some carpools with each other ahead of time to
alleviate the strain of driving to London (though it’s really only a
little further out than the drive was to Delaware). Gym floor time on
any Sunday is always at a premium, and rarely available.
This
weekend and next weekend WILL BE especially busy during our practices,
we are only two weeks from our first performance and we need to use the
time as efficiently as possible! We are currently working on practice
locations for the weekend of the 27/28th, Sunday will be at
Madison Plains, and we will let you know about Saturday’s location as
soon as possible.
FIRST PERFORMANCES:
Saturday, February 3 at
Central Crossing HS in Grove City
– Performance Time is at 2:50 pm. We will return after awards, no
practice afterwards.
Sunday, February 4 at
Central Crossing HS in Grove City
– Performance Time is at 10:30 am. After awards we will go to lunch in
Grove City (or nearby) and then do a brief 4 hour practice (possibly
1-5pm), location TBD. WGI Indianapolis is the following weekend so we
will need to continue working on some of the drill.
At each
show, we are competing against Elements only, so it’s great time to make
a first impression in PIO to these guys and gals. (In case you are
interested the shows are quite large, it’s just our class isn’t that
big).
Remember,
that we will be using our temporary uniforms for these shows. This
includes a khaki pair or pants (no cargoes, please), a long sleeve black
t-shirt with no logos or writing on them, and a pair of BLACK
Drillmaster shoes. If you do not have a pair of Black Drillmasters, DO
NOT go out and buy any! Just e-mail me that you do not have a pair, and
then give me your shoe size, and I will secure a pair that are used, but
we will only need them for one, maybe two weekends. Again, with the rest
of the temporary uniforms, please don’t go out and spend much money on
the items. They are only temporary until the show uniforms can be
completed.
WELCOME NEW MEMBERS!
This
weekend we will be welcoming three new members to Level Seven
Percussion!
Joining us
in the bass drum line will be Jared (sorry Jared, I did not catch your
last name!), and in the front ensemble on keyboards will be Constance
Baker and Kira Dralle. Please help make them feel welcome here at Level
Seven. Right now, we need to find housing for these three and also for
Griffin for each of the next three Saturday nights. Anyone willing to
help out, let me know and I’ll assist you all with the arrangements.

DRIVERS:
So far, for
the Central Crossing shows I have one confirmed driver (Debbie Wegner).
I will be driving as well, but that is only two vehicles with
approximately 12 people. I still need to get around 3-4 more vehicles
going…let me know if you are interested in driving. This is an easy
driving weekend! Two trips to Groove City! Fun Fun Fun!
Well, that
is all I can come up with at the moment. If anyone has any questions,
please feel free to ask. See you all this weekend!
Thanks,
Bill Hurley
