Explorer Post 2107
February 7, 2007 Indianapolis
WGI Regional Information
This weekend is the second weekend of our
2007 Tour and the first of three WGI contests. This will be probably
the busiest weekend of the season due to the travel and distance, and
strangely the season may seem easier after this point (decent weather
along the way wouldn't hurt us, either). We need to get the trailer
packed this Friday evening and will need to practice to work out some
minor drill moves, as well as do a new pit arrangement across the
front of the tarp to spread out the sound a little better, as well as
give us an easier way to get on and off the floor quicker. We took too
long last weekend at Central Crossing, the second show we were 26
seconds short of going over the time limit for our division, so we
need to get this worked out. Saturday will be another long day and it
has a very early start, so we need you rested and in good health.
I understand this is late notice on
practice, and I apologize for that. If you are working or involved in
something else, please let me know that you won't be able to make it.
WEEKEND COST:
The cost for each member this weekend will
be $50.00. This cost includes the hotel room, fuel
expenses for the drivers, and rental of the practice facility. We are
at a hotel with a discounted rate for groups performing at the WGI
Regional this weekend. Not a bad cost - last year we stayed two nights
in Indianapolis for $108 per member, it did NOT include fuel costs and
no practice facility - we practiced with the tarp unfolded in the
parking lot at the high school. What a mess.
Cost-wise, it's a really good deal.
This weekend's schedule:

Delaware (it's closer than Madison Plains!)
7:00 pm to 10:00 pm in the gym

When trailer is unloaded, go back to the
setup area and drop off your coats/hats/gloves, get into temporary
uniforms, and return to staging area (where drums were unloaded to).
Captains make sure the drums are in an orderly fashion and inventory
that ALL items are inside the building. Also, Captains begin leading
our stretch routine.
