Indianapolis WGI Regional Wrap-up

WHEW!!! What a weekend.

We are thrilled with the progress that we are making right now and have shown just since last weekend at Central Crossing.

Our score jumped almost 12.5 points from last Sunday to today (60.5 to 72.9) and we are not even close to completing the show. In comparison, at the very end of last year (in April) we peaked at an 82...so we are doing well in comparison, but we will still need to do a lot of hard work to take the show to a higher level. Visually we are now beginning the phase of adding a new design and props on to the floor tarp, we will be adding uniforms soon, and the new drums will be here shortly as well. So what you see now may look totally different in three weeks.

This weekend, almost everything went smoothly, with very few glitches. We did incur a penalty on Saturday for a technical problem with timpani legs (they weren't padded where they could have damaged the gym floors), and also our practice gym had no loading ramp for the equipment and was a few feet undersized...but we all cooperated with each other and it worked out just fine.

Special thanks this weekend to our driver-chaperones: Debbie Wegner, Duane Grohoske, Lance & Renata Thompson. We obviously wouldn't be able to perform without their help, and are grateful for their sacrificing the weekend just for us! Thanks again!

Next show:

Saturday, February 24th - Campbell County HS, Alexandria, Kentucky
We will have practice at Madison Plains that day, then at approximately 5pm we will leave for the show. We will need at least three drivers and vehicles for this contest, and they would need to arrive at Madison Plains MS around 4:30pm for pickup. We should return to Columbus by around midnight. More information to follow.

Stay tuned for the weekly update later this week, I will be releasing information for the WGI Dayton Regional, and will begin asking for driver-chaperone help once again.

Thanks!
